Jim Bagley
Jim Bagley is a retired electronics-engineering
manager who discovered the joy of painting. In the early seventies,
he began to use oil pastels and later acrylic paint to create his
first works of art. He has specialized in watercolors since 2000.
Jim says, "Watercolors are so subtle, challenging and rewarding, they
are a joy to create".
Born in Massachusetts, Jim lived much
of his life in Colorado before migrating to Asheville, NC in the heart
of the Blue Ridge Mountains in 2003. Jim studied at The Art Students
League of Denver, CO, and has studied under artists such as Sandra
Kaplan, Buffalo Kaplinski, Sandra Moore, Tom Lynch and others. He
has been in many shows in Denver, CO and Asheville, NC.
Jim exhibits at The Appalachian Artisan's
Society Gallery in Old Fort, NC and in The Olde Depot Gallery in Black
Mountain, NC. His art works run the gamut from landscape, seascape,
still life, and abstract in watercolor and acrylic media.
