and Ink Workshop
This is an easy medium to learn and great to take
along on a trip to record some of your favorite
memories. But, it also can be used to create “fine
art”. In this two day workshop students will learn
a number of techniques to achieve either loose
or very detailed artwork. You will learn about
the inks, pens and paper to use for getting the
results you want, as well as completing at least
two pieces. The artwork created with this medium
reproduces beautifully to make cards or prints
to sell or give as gifts. Fee: $65 includes supplies.
Beginners and Intermediate Oil Painting
You will create a 16X20 follow-a-long landscape
scene in oils that will be suitable to frame.
Learn how to easily mix those hard to mix colors
and apply the paint to achieve the desired effect.
Those who have some experience may bring a picture
of their choice to work on. Come join the fun!
Fee: $80 if you bring your own supplies, $100
with supplies furnished.

Painting
the Impressionistic Landscape
with Lois Griffel
Formerly the head of the Cape Cod School of Art,
Lois will teach the impressionistic color theory
of her school in a plein air oils workshop based
on her book, "Painting the Impressionist Landscape."
Lois' goal is to help students, whether a beginner
or professional, expand their artistic vision with
a wonderful approach to painting color and light
using colors they may never have used before, lively
brushstrokes and even a palette knife. Most exciting
for some may be the experience of painting outdoors
for the first time. You can learn more about Lois
and see examples of her work at loisgriffel.com.
Tuition is $300 for SVFAL members; $325 for non-members
(includes SVFAL membership). The class is now full
but you can be placed on a waiting list in the event
there is a cancellation. |
