Lorelle Bacon - Mixed Media Class using Modeling Paste! Students will use modeling paste to create a 3-D look in either their choice of oil or acrylic paints! Some very interesting things can be done with modeling paste! It makes your painting really look dimensional. For example, fence posts, stucco houses, clothing on a portrait, flowers and much more…Come join the fun and learn something new!! Cost: $80

Experimental Art Group - Learn something new every week from a different artist. Open to all media. All levels welcome. We will invite a teacher once a month but otherwise will learn techniques from DVD demo and each other. Cost:$20/month starting with the first time you show up. The exhibitions are juried, and are limited to members of the Swannanoa Valley Fine Arts League. Non-members may join the League at the time they submit their art
to be juried.
The exhibitions are open to both professional and non-professional artists. Judges are employed for the major exhibits, and ribbons
are awarded

Programs are presented by SVFAL at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts. Speakers are outstanding experts in their field. Programs are given on a wide range of topics, and often include demonstrations. Call Laverne Hueston (Program Chairman) at 828-669-5669 for information

For example: Artistic use of the computer to produce original and expressive art. Advanced watercolor techniques. Use of classical methods of pigment preparation for maximum brilliance and durability of paintings. Artistic design of stained glass. Effective use of nude models in fine art.
